Spending time around the swimming pool on holiday with kids? Don’t forget this tip!
We have just returned from a break with our family – a beautiful villa within the La Manga area of Spain. The men played some golf, the girls worshipped the sun and the kids utterly loved playing in the pool! Utter bliss. In fact, I think the father’s preferred playing within the swimming pool with the children rather than playing golf poorly!
However we have a tip which we thought was worth posting and not only made life easier however the children enjoyed it too – we used hooded kids towels around the swimming pool to enable getting the children dry without causing lots of stress! We found this much easier than big beach towels.
We used lots of sunscreen and also protective bathing suits (including one really stylish all in one diving suit style outfit for our two year old), however this still left us thinking how we got the kids dry. Dead easy as it turns out. We left the towels on a sun lounger and when we needed to get the baby out of the swimming pool, got them to the end, whipped off their soaked swimming stuff and wrapped them up in a hooded towel.

We used sun protective towels too that meant the little one’s skin remained protected from all of the sun’s uv rays. By quickly wrapping the child, we got all of them dried off too whilst making them look really adorable! In truth, many of our favourite photographs from the break are the ones of the children wrapped up in their towels, faces peaking out while having a refreshing drink or ice lolly – they look seriously sweet!
Knowing the towels are sunlight resistant too meant we did not have to stress about quickly getting suncream onto damp skin. The kids got wrapped up, got on a sun bed and then once they’d had a little break, we creamed them up again and off they went playing.
For a mother on a beach or perhaps round the pool, making things easy is actually key to being able to enjoy yourself too. It is your holiday as well! There’s nothing worse then getting all flustered and the children getting upset when the temperatures are soaring high – why not help make life and the getaway easier by packing one thing which you currently have at home?!
