Choosing the best baby pram stroller for your family is a task that you want to put a little research into so that you get something that is functional and useful for the whole family. There are a couple points to consider before you dive in and buy something. Each one contributes to the overall functionality of the stroller based on how active your family is.

How big should it be?

The size of the stroller is quite important. It doesn’t matter how many kids you have, you need to decide if you need a bulky stroller or something that is a little bit more slim. Those who have small doorways at home, shop at places that have doors that are hard to get in and out of, or have cars that don’t have a ton of storage space should avoid big strollers.

Bulky strollers are for families that need a great deal of storage space when they are out and about. Plus, the family that is able to store the stroller in their vehicle can afford to have a large unit. Otherwise, it’s better to go with something smaller.

]]>

What kind should you get?

The type of baby pram strollers you purchase is based solely on what you will use it for. Some folks use strollers just to walk around the neighborhood, the mall, or the grocery store. In that case, you can go with a standard stroller that has enough seats for your kids.

If you are athletic and active, it’s better to get a stroller that is made for running and walking. these specially designed units have wheels that glide easily and a handlebar that is easy to push as you run or walk for exercise.

If you need a stroller for travel, you might want to consider one that has a seat for your bigger kids who are not in a car seat anymore. This gives them a place to sit when they get tired, and it also offers you room to put in the small babies comfortably.

How many kids do you have?

If you have three kids or less, there are strollers that can accommodate all your kids easily. You simply need to decide if you want three kids sitting side-by-side or all in a row. One stroller will be very wide while the other will be very long. It all depends on where you go and how comfortable you feel pushing the stroller itself.

Pick the baby pram strollers that is most functional for your family based on these requirements and you will be happy with your purchase and have an easy time getting around town.

What to Consider When Purchasing a Pushchair

There are so many options out in the market these days, so picking one can become quite the chore. There are a dozen brands, a thousand models, and new ones appear every so often. It seems that there’s no end to the choices, but rather than make life easier, they make life much more complicated.

But there are some things that are constant when it comes to pushchairs. Comfort and safety for your child will always come paramount and ahead of every other consideration. These two things define the very concept of purchasing a pushchair in the first place. After all, every other consideration afterwards will be less important than protecting your child while traveling.

This is why selecting a pushchair will require you to ask a few pertinent questions that will ensure your child is safe and comfortable within it. These questions are important, and they may seem quite absurd at first glance. In reality, however, these are the considerations that will help ensure the safety and comfort of your child, while traveling inside the pushchair.

]]>

First, what’s your usual lifestyle routine like? This is an important question, because how you live will affect how your child travels. If you’re always traveling long distances via car, a better choice is a travel system that converts into a car seat. If you’re fond of long walks, a traditional pram or pushchair might be better.

Second, what type of terrain are you often traveling on? Although seemingly irrelevant, taking note of the terrain around your usual path is important. For rough terrains and beaches, a three-wheeler pushchair is the best choice. It allows you to navigate much more easily, and will minimise the shocks to your resting child.

Third, how old is your child? Age is not always a good measure, but it is a factor in choosing pushchairs. For example, traditional prams and carrycots are specifically for infants only. Older children are supposed to use pushchairs. This is something very important that you have to consider.

Fourth, how heavy is your child? As mentioned, age itself is not enough as a measure of whether or not the pushchair is suitable for your child. Most children grow faster and heavier than their peers, so age alone isn’t enough. Instead, take note of the pushchair’s weight and height capacity.

Finally, are you looking to use this for a long time? If you know you’re about to have another child on the way, and the age difference is minimal, a double or triple pushchair could be a good choice. After all, pushchairs can be quite expensive, so making an investment ahead may be a great option. A better idea is to use a travel system. That way, you can use a carrycot while your child’s still an infant, then convert it into a pushchair when your child grows a bit. You can also attach your car seat to it.

These are just some questions you ought to remember before making a purchase.  Take note that you may have additional questions of your own; don’t be afraid to ask them!

Is a Travel System for you?

Now I wish I had done more research into this when I was expecting… Instead I brought a Britax infant carrier and two different strollers… This is OK, don’t get me wrong but a Travel system would have made life that bit easier when my son was a new born.
We had to either carry him in his infant carrier when we were out and about or had to wake him to put him into his stroller.
A Travel system could change this for you and anything that helps when you have a newborn is got to be a good thing.

So what are travel systems you may ask?

Travel Systems are designed for you to be able to take your car seat out of the car and click into a stroller no hassle no fuss.
There are also 3 in 1 travel systems that allow a bassinet to go into the stroller as well as a car seat.

If you decide to go down this route there are some key things you need to figure out first because like everything in baby land there is so much to choose from.

1. Make sure the car seat has a 5-point harness – this is a must as it is the safest harness on the market, recommended by experts… If fighter pilots and race car drivers wear them then that’s saying something.

2. Check the weight limits for the car seat and stroller. Most infant car seats go to 22 pounds but there are some on the market that go to 30 pounds this is important as you want to get the best value for money.
As for the stroller double check the weight limits probably more for the max weight limit as you want to get as much use from it as possible.

3. Look at your lifestyle and how you actually want to use the stroller… for example will you be mainly using at shops, at the park, jogging, off-road, how big is your car or storage space etc.
Each stroller on the market caters for different purposes so make sure the travel system you buy is going to fit your lifestyle.

4. Look for a system that can be used once your baby has outgrown the infant seat. That way you may still be able to use the stroller and the next size up car seat.

Travel systems may seem expensive but add it up if you were to purchase an infant seat separately then a stroller how much are you really saving?

Two of my personal favorite travel systems are the Chicco Cortina Keyfit 30 Travel System due to the fact that the car seat is voted 1 number seat in America, the infant carrier goes up to 30 pounds and it is very reasonably priced.

Second favorite is quite pricey but has so many features and it’s a system that you can continue to use as your baby grows into a toddler. It’s the Orbit G2 Travel System.
All of Orbit’s products are designed to be Eco-Friendly, certified fabrics and the car seat is the worlds first to be classed as healthy and clean by Oeko-Tex.
This also seems to be the system that the stars are using.

And these are just two of the many that are on the market. Good luck with your research and happy shopping!

I’ve had my first child this year and it all seems so daunting but here’s what I have found out so far… Your Children’s Gear Reviewed

One of the most important things when you have a child is their safety. One of the best ways that you can keep your little one safe is with a baby carrier. These are great as car seats and even attach to many strollers and shopping carts. The great thing about the baby carrier is that it is also a great way to carry your baby when you are out and about. The shape of the carrier even allows for you to rock them when they are not strapped in to a device, such as a car seat. If you want to make sure your baby is safe with their baby carrier, there are a few things you will want to keep in mind.

The first thing you will want to keep in mind when you are purchasing a baby carrier is never to buy one used. There are many reasons for this. One, if it has been in an accident, it is no longer safe and could just become detached. Even if you get the baby carrier from someone you know who has never been in an accident, this is still not ideal because the safety recommendations for the carriers change every couple years and you will want to make sure that you have the baby carrier that is completely up to date. In fact, the carrier should have a date that the safety inspection is good through.

You may also be interested in the look of the baby carrier you buy. If you have a boy, you may not want to carry around a baby carrier that is pink or purple and vice versa. However, if you do not know what the sex of your baby is before hand, it is still important to get the baby carrier to take your newborn home from the hospital in. In these cases, you can always go with something that is neutral, such as a sage or pastel yellow color.

Having a baby carrier is one of the most important purchases when you are expecting a baby. The great thing is that they are not so expensive that they will break you. However, they are integral to the safety of your little bundle of joy and it is important not to go with a used baby carrier simply because it is cheap. You can also read reviews on the different baby carriers you have in mind in order to figure out which is best for you.

Child Car Seats

When new parents are bringing home a baby for the first time, they are joyful and excited. Additionally, they tend to drive slowly and carefully to ensure the safety of their precious newborn. To further protect young children, many states also have laws that require parents to keep the kids in child car seats until they reach a certain age or size. As a parent, it is important that you choose the right type of car seat for your child to keep him or her as safe as possible. Over half of the states, including Iowa, Ohio, and Wisconsin, have a law that states that children under the age of one and less than 20 pounds must ride in a rear-facing child safety seat. Rear-facing seats are very protective because the baby’s body is blocked by the actual car seat to the front as well as the safety seat at the infant’s back. In some cases, parents can get convertible child seats, which are child carriers with safety harnesses that attach to a base that can be left in the car.

These can be versatile as well as safe. For toddlers and preschoolers, many parents turn to forward-facing child car seats. Again, states vary on the age that these children can graduate to the next level, but it ranges from Florida at 3 to many states, including Illinois, at 8. The reason why forward-facing child seats are so important is that the seat belts and safety features of a vehicle are not made for little bodies. For instance, a seat belt may cut into a child’s neck rather than strap him or her safely across the chest. Additionally, many harnesses in forward-facing seats are difficult for children to undo by themselves, making sure that they do not accidentally come lose in case of an accident. After forward-facing child car seats, many states require children to ride in a booster seat for a couple more years. This is because children tend to outgrow forward-facing safety seats before they are big enough to fit an adult-sized seat and seat belt.

Typically, a seat belt fits when a child is about 4’9″, which is normally between 8 and 12 years of age. After this, some states require that children wear seat belts no matter what seat they occupy. When you place your child into a car seat, no matter if it is forward-facing or backward-facing, convertible or not convertible, you are placing the life of your precious child into the a supposedly trustworthy device. However, if there are design or manufacturing defects with a child car seat, it can result in your child getting thrown around a vehicle in case of an accident, or not protected enough by the padding surrounding your child’s head.

My Personal Review On Fisher Price Take Along Swing Precious Planet Khaki Sands

Rejected two months old swing! We purchased this swing after seeing Harvey Karp “happiest baby on the block” DVD (which is awesome). He did not accept this oscillation, only recommends changes in general. We bought this swing because it is small and portable. To our dismay the settings in the swing were not fast enough. Even at the highest value of the swing barely moved. Our son only weighed 11 pounds at the time, so it’s not a matter of weight. It is also very strong and he responded negatively to the vibration. The swing is gathering dust in the baby’s room. The advantage is that it is compact and lightweight.

A note of caution: assembling the body swing, it is easy to tighten the screws. In an attempt to ensure that the seat is safely met, I completely screw presses a background of safety interlocking pieces of plastic.

Napping Toddlers

Napping Toddlers

From the back seat of the car came shouts of “No sleep! No sleep! Wake up! Wake up!” When we twisted to look, near was 20-month-old Sebastian leaning advance in his car seat, shaking his head and repeating his mantra. He knew with the aim of if he sat back and relaxed, he’d fall dead to the world.

And near was specifically too much attention-grabbing stuff ready on to assent to with the aim of transpire.

Many toddlers get hold of an age once with the aim of lovely sleep you counted on in lieu of a day after day break becomes a smaller amount inevitable, although various keep on napping into the kindergarten years. “By vis-а-vis 12 to 14 months of age, toddlers cultivate to transition from two naps a generation to specifically lone in the afternoon,” says Jen Donovan, proprietor of Jen’s Playcare in Ottawa. “Some toddlers really originate to resist sleep stretch by this peak, although the original I state heard of a descendant in point of fact giving up naps would be 24 months, and three years is more regular.”

I can beat with the aim of — my daughter, Lisa, stopped napping by ten months. Sadly, with the aim of didn’t translate into longer nighttime nap either.

Stephanie Roe’s daughter Hailey is more standard. Hailey had been napping in lieu of by smallest amount lone or two hours each generation, but folks naps became intermittent specifically subsequent to her back birthday. While Roe had for ever and a day nursed her daughter to nap in lieu of her afternoon rests, the arrival of baby brother Cole, two months subsequent to Hailey twisted two, made with the aim of routine pitiless to lug old hat.

“If I can develop my baby to nap, followed by I can slouch down with Hailey in lieu of a while,” says Roe. “But it takes quite a while in lieu of her to relax adequate to doze rancid. If the baby wakes up and starts to cry in the past she cascade dead to the world, it’s all on top of. She jumps up and it’s out of the question to develop her to settle down again.”

Roe followed by finds herself with a somewhat grouchy child who cascade dead to the world vis-а-vis 6:30 p.M. And doesn’t wake up until morning. “That sounds like not such a bad device,” she says, “but it’s a delinquent if we require to exit old hat somewhere in the evenings as a variety.”

Understanding Buggies

Firstly, you will need to purchase an age appropriate buggy. In general, there are three different styles of buggy, which are suitable depending upon the age of the child.

Newborn – 4/5 Months
Newborn babies are unable to sit up, so buggies must allow the baby to lie in a prone position. It is essential for new, and very young, babies to lie flat, as this helps to develop good posture in later life, and aids sleep and respiration. This age group need extra padding in their buggies, as well as options for adding protective covers to keep the sun, wind, cold, heat, and rain, away from the baby. Many manufacturers, such as Maclaren buggies, design their range so that the bassinette can be removed and used in other capacities, such as a carrycot and/or car seat – buying a buggy with these features can save parents a lot of money, as well as space.

4 months -6/7 Months
As babies approach the 4-month mark, they begin to sit up, it is essential then, that they are not forced to lie down too much because of the pram they have been put in. At around four months, babies need a pram that will allow them to sit up. Many of the newborn prams have an adjustable bassinette, so that a new pram is not necessary so soon after birth, Maclaren buggies have this feature, and are certainly worth considering as a first pram.

6 Months – Toddler +
These buggies allow children to sit up without support. They are normally extremely lightweight and easily fold away. These prams are intended for babies and children who are beginning to walk, but who will need a rest after a while, or will need to sit in the buggy because they do not walk fast enough for the circumstances (they only have little legs after all, and a few hundred metres for an adult, can feel like a marathon to a child).

Next, there are many different styles of buggy that fall into each category, choosing the one that is ideal for the child is dependent on the lifestyle of the parents, as well as personal preference, here is an un-exhaustive list of the various types of buggy that can be purchased:

• 3-wheels – these are much loved by cosmopolitan parents who like to look stylish, however, they are great for using when jogging, or simply walking through the countryside, this is because they come with great suspension, and the front wheel allows for greater control and manoeuvrability.

• Rear facing buggy – as the name implies, these buggies face towards the pusher. According to the latest research, this style of buggy develops social skills much more than an outward facing buggy. Most manufacturers, such as Maclaren buggies, have a range of buggies and pushchairs in both styles.

• Twin prams – according to the latest research, more twins are being born now than ever before, this is largely due to the increased use of IVF, but do not worry if you have, or are expecting twins, as these prams provide the perfect solution for your transportation needs.

A new baby is a pretty exciting thing to look forward to and it is imperative to have all the things that the baby needs so that your baby is well taken care of and that the baby has everything that it needs. There are basic things that every baby needs and that you as a mom should provide, especially for the first 3 months of your baby’s life.

Here is a list of some of the things that are a must have for every baby:

Clothes – Everybody needs clothes and that includes babies. Babies clothes are changed a couple of times in a given day because they mess themselves up quite a lot so you need to buy clothes that are comfortable but also clothes that will be quick to be changed to make it easier for you and the baby.

Diapers – this is one of the most obvious ones, because diaper changes for a baby can run up to 10 times in a day. You need plenty of these and they need to be comfortable for the baby. You will also need wipes and the lotion that you must apply after every diaper change so that your baby does not develop any rash.

Baby Gear – These include strollers, a crib for the baby as well as a car seat for the trip from the hospital and the trips to the clinic. This can be quite pricey but they are necessary for the baby to have, and they will make life easier for you.

Feeding Accessories – most new moms will want to breastfeed their babies, but for instances where the mom has to go to work or is away from the baby, you might consider making formula for the baby, in which case you are going to need bibs, breast pump, bottles to feed the baby with as well as nipples.

Bathing Accessories – when it comes to bathing, your newborn will need hooded towels, baby soaps, baby lotions as well as a baby tub

There are other things that you might consider getting such as baby nail clipper as well as baby monitors. There are others that you might want to look into but these cover the bulk of the basics that you need.

As you can see from this list, this can amount to a lot of money, and that is the reason why you should consider free baby stuff for expecting mothers.
