Losing Pregnancy Weight- Creating Habits
Pregnancy in general can be quite stressful on a womens’ body and not just physically. Your hormones are raging, you are tired, crying at the drop of a dime, always hungry, indigestion, your cravings are out of control and a on top of it all, you get to witness your body going though some particular unpleasant changes, which leads to the following questions. “What can you do to start losing pregnancy weight” and ” How can you possibly survive 9 months of pregnancy unscathed?”
Pre-Planning!
Pre-panning for your pregnancy is your best option for survival, and will make the world of difference, not only to your body but it will alleviate a ton of stress too. It’s not just what you do after pregnancy that will determine your post baby state but also what you do before and througout that will make the difference.
Ask yourself the following questions:
How active are you?
How often?
Are you stretching?
What are your eating habits?
Do you eat all three meals or are you skipping breakfast?
Do you have hobbies or tasks that fill your spirit?
Do you laugh often or do you seem stressed a lot of the time?
On a Scale of 1-10 where would you say you sit with your daily stress levels?
Create the right habits and you can succeed at anything!
Some habits are hard to break while others are difficult to instill. Either way you cut it, creating the right kinds of habits will help you immensely on your journey to becoming a new mom, as well as how to cope with your new life. With regards to pregnancy specifically; Create as many good habits as you can before you even get pregnant, it will make it so much easier to continue with those habits throughout your pregnancy and after. Remember this, your entire life will change after you give birth. Is that really the time you want to be stressing about completley changing your diet to try and get healthy for you and your baby? HELL NO, that needs to start earlier than that!
Also consider this, a healthy momma will generally have a healthy baby and that fact holds true right through untill the breast feeding comes to a stop. Perhaps even longer as the knowledge you will discover about your own health will help you set your child on the right path to a healthy lifestyle.
Believe me, in such an emotional state you do not want to be rethinking everything you’re putting in your mouth because whatever you eat you are also feeding your baby. Think about that the next time you grab that stuffed croissant. Imagine fork feeding it right into your baby’s little mouth. They don’t know any better but you do.
This is particularly helpful with the dreaded post pregnancy weight that every new mom faces. On average, most women who are unprepared for their pregnancy end up putting on way too much weight during their pregnancy and then have to work even harder to get it off afterwards. Many moms’ will say forget it and give up before even trying. Sometimes they end up convincing themselves that they don’t care and that they’re fine with their new bodies. Or maybe they spend a few months, maybe even years battling that weight and trying desperately to get back to their pre-baby shape but they just cannot get there. After all, it is much harder to lose weight after you have had a baby, and this is especially true for moms’ having babies into their 30′s and 40′s after their metabolism has slowed right down. And yes, it does just keep slowing with age which means it will only get harder and harder for you to lose that weight.
#1 Habit to create- Make diet and excersise a priority now!
We hear these two phrases all the time yet for some reason people still don’t get it. This statement is true for most people but the the variation in diet and exercise is very different if you are a soon to be mom. Now you must also consider things like:

These are all very important questions that you need to ask yourself if you are planning a pregnancy and if you are planning on getting pregnant in the near future, now is the time to start planning – NOT once you’ve seen the positive sign on your pregnancy test.
